Boring life:

the hospital runs on a weird 25.5 hour day that consists of its own 24 hours worth of house made out of 90.5. minutes each. I don't understand that.

the network predictably falls over every eight hours or so. This isn't a big deal as getting it going again ins't too hard now.

Steve's Weird House: . Collection houses are neat, I don't understand them at all, but I can see that there's some underlying structure that's opaque to me.

Mostly the hospital is boring and noisy in kind of a givees-you-a-low-grade-headache way. The nerurologist loooked at my broken head again and said that it's healing up nicely. But the lower-grade headache is boring ans strange.

Yay for Steve Bard's house!

I was there over seafair weekend. He throws a ginormous party every year. This year featured King And Beast. sideshow act / elvis impersonator / professional movers.

The headache is to remind you that your head is still attached.

Hey, at least you're still with us and you're getting better. So how do you feel mentally? Hitting on all cylinders again? Or still getting back up to speed? (I'm sure the meds aren't helping much with that either).

Yeah, hospitals have that effect on people. Everything's too... white. Smells like nothing and everything.

It is good to hear such strong recovery happening to ya. Seems like magic!

I spent a week in ICU and another week in 'ambulatory care' in 2000. It was very boring... especially as I had a weird infection. So, while in ICU was mostly out of it... I do remember dialysis a couple times and the second spinal tap... couple xrays and one ultrasound, but otherwise it was like ghosts floating in and out of my bubble of comprehension. Very surreal... room seemed bigger from the bed than it did next time I visited that ward when my Aunt was there.
By the time I was on the AC floor, the two spinal taps had messed with me enough that all LIGHT hurt. Made them keep just the one behind me on and turn off overheads and keep the shades drawn. I didn't read or watch tv, I just chatted with family or whomever was there. Weird, huh?
I say all this cause maybe getting a reduction in the light in your room could help your headache. It could be the flowers too (especially lilys).
Good luck! I am continuing to send "vibes" your way for strength and health!
