Several members of the board who fought to approve science standards that called into question evolutionary theory lost their bid for re-election; in their place are candidates who believe evolution is well-supported.

Just when it seemed that the stakes for this fall’s mid-term elections couldn’t get any higher, John Conyers opened his mouth … again. Conyers, a liberal congressman from Detroit, once again uttered the “I” word—impeachment.

A Time For Change
Faith and Freedom Network
Wednesday, August 02, 2006

http://www.faithandfreedom.us/weblog/2006/08/time-for-change.html

The Bible, which some are now saying is archaic and does not speak to today’s culture, is not only relevant to today’s culture in it’s principles for life, but in its ancient wisdom as well.

[...]

A well-known lawyer from Seattle called me a couple of days ago encouraging me to encourage you to press forward in the battle for the culture. He said people of faith should not feel that the traditional, Biblical marriage issue is settled. He said even now there are a number of strategies under way to redefine marriage and that the close decision by the Supreme Court (5-4)* would be a part of those strategies.

It is a time for change.

We must replace the judicial activists with qualified people who will rule according to the law (as five of the Supreme Court justices did) not according to their personal agenda.

God Removed From Military Flag-Folding Ceremony
Change brought by atheist group has received little attention.
Focus on the Family
August 1, 2006
from staff reports

http://www.family.org/cforum/news/a0041481.cfm

The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers has succeeded in getting the Air Force to rewrite an unofficial flag-folding script that included references to God. Though the change happened last summer, it has gone largely unnoticed.

[...]

"The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost."

But the Air Force has replaced that unofficial script with an official one that contains no religious references.

[...]

Gabe Allen with WallBuilders told Family News in Focus it's not something that should go by without a complaint.

“I think best course of action is actually to write a letter,” he said. “A letter has a significant impact with our elected officials.”

Pro-Homosexual Marriage Proponents Go Public With Their Agenda

We have repeatedly said the agenda of those pushing homosexual marriage will lead to polygamy and a total devaluation of marriage. Not content with "the narrow terms of the marriage debate," the pro-homosexual advocates are now declaring, "Legal recognition for a wide rage of relationships, households and families - regardless of kinship or conjugal status." They also demand, "Access for all, regardless of marital or citizenship status, to vital government support programs, including but not limited to health care, housing, Social Security and pension plans, disaster recovery assistance, unemployment insurance, and welfare assistance."

In short, they want to totally redefine our society by eliminating the very concepts of marriage and family, and the battle to redefine traditional marriage is just the beginning.

ALL's Judie Brown: 'Most Important' Pro-Life Bill Could End Abortion If Passed
By Jody Brown and Bill Fancher
American Family Association/Agape Press
August 2, 2006

http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/8/afa/22006f.asp

(AgapePress) - One of the nation's premiere pro-life leaders says a bill currently before a House committee could bring an end to abortion in America. Ironically it originated with strong sponsorship from the Republican Party -- a group she contends is not as "pro-life" as some people think.

The Right to Life Act, sponsored by California Congressman Duncan Hunter, contains no exceptions for an abortion or compromises any pro-life principles, says Judie Brown of American Life League (ALL) -- and that's why she calls it "the most important piece of pro-life legislation under consideration today."

H.R. 552, which now has 100 co-sponsors in Congress, establishes "equal protection for the right to life of each born and preborn human person" -- then goes on to define "human person" as a member of the species homo sapiens "at all stages of life," including the moment of fertilization, cloning, or "other moment" at which the person "comes into being." ALL president Brown believes such legislation is critical in fight against legalized abortion.

Georgia Office Seeker Blasts Ruling Favoring High School Gay-Straight Club

(AgapePress) - A federal judge recently issued a ruling requiring White County High School in Cleveland, Georgia, to allow students in the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) club "Pride" to meet on campus. However, the Republican nominee for attorney general in that state says he would like to see homosexuality-affirming student clubs banned from the state's schools.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) had filed a lawsuit against the White County School District in February, claiming school officials violated Pride's rights under the federal Equal Access Act, and a federal judge agreed. But Perry McGuire, a candidate for Georgia Attorney General, says the judge's decision allowing the pro-homosexual club to meet on the school campus was "terribly unfortunate."

Ford Sponsors GLAAD Media Awards
'Stand By Our Company,' Automaker Pleads
By AFA Journal
August 2, 2006

http://headlines.agapepress.org/archive/8/afa/22006d.asp

(AgapePress) - While the Ford Motor Company continues to argue that a pro-family group's boycott is having no effect on auto sales, the company sent out an e-mail pleading with dealers to ask customers for help.

Chairman Bill Ford sent the e-mail in June to Ford dealers, requesting that they "ask customers to support Ford." The e-mail said customers "should stand by our company because of our innovative products, because for generations we've been a positive force in American society, and because our successful Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers have made their communities stronger."

The American Family Association (AFA) began its boycott of Ford because of the company's vigorous support of homosexual organizations that push a radical agenda, including the legalization of same-sex "marriage." The automaker also advertises in homosexual political publications which frequently publish articles that insult Christians as bigots who preach "a gospel of hatred and discrimination."

"This is a clear sign that Ford has chosen sides in the culture war," says AFA chairman Don Wildmon. "And they have sided with sexual radicals who hate Christianity."

...Rev. Rob Schenck says the last thing Israel needs in a time of war is next week's "WorldPride" homosexual-rights festival in Jerusalem. Schenck is president of the activist group Faith and Action, which is urging American Christians to sign an online petition that asks Israel to cancel the gathering. He calls WorldPride "an offense against God" and against the deeply-held beliefs of Christians, Jews and Muslims in the city they all consider sacred. The six-day festival in Jerusalem is to include a "multifaith convocation" featuring the head of the homosexual-friendly Metropolitan Community Churches and a lesbian rabbi from New York. [AP]

...Pro-family activists in Florida are stepping up efforts to get a marriage protection amendment on the ballot in 2008. Supporters of the constitutional amendment, which would define marriage as only between a man and a woman, are hoping to conclude the petition drive by the end of August. John Stemberger, president of the Florida Family Policy Council, says the state needs a constitutional amendment to protect traditional marriage, despite what critics say. "The laws were on the books in Massachusetts too, until some activist judge -- an unaccountable, unelected member of our government -- with one stroke of a pen erased 6,000 years of history and tradition and, really, what's best for children," Stemberger comments. "This is really insanity. It has to stop." According to the Council spokesman, about 50,000 more signatures are needed for the amendment to be placed on the 2008 ballot. He encourages those who have not yet signed, but wish to do so, to download the petition at his group's website, sign it, and sent it in. "It's a very important, historic effort happening around the country," he says, "but specifically happening here and now in Florida." [Allie Martin]

CWA Warns About New Leftist Alliance Against the Family

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women for America (CWA) has learned about a broad coalition of far-left organizations which has launched a new strategy in the assault against the family; the so-called “same-sex marriage” movement wants to expand the marriage debate beyond what they are calling one-size-fits-all marriage to include issues like abstinence education, divorce laws, and marriage promotion efforts. In addition, they want to link together people from diverse concerns –– sexual orientation, race, gender identity, class distinctions and citizenship status –– in their common effort to gain economic benefits.

[...]

For instance, the coalition will work to make access to government support programs available regardless of marital or citizenship status. They will work to separate church and state in all matters related to relationships, households and families. They will work to keep state regulations from impacting “sexual lives and gender choices, identities and expression.”

The Guttmacher Institute, the think tank for Planned Parenthood, has recommended public funding of contraceptive services and supplies for young women and women in poverty. While their headline focuses on poor women, the fine print also includes young women.

The recommendation, in effect, helps Planned Parenthood get around parents in order to provide contraception for teenagers and to get the federal government to satisfy Planned Parenthood's gluttony at the federal trough. Moreover, the public has a right to know that Planned Parenthood's idea of contraceptive services includes abortion and they are the largest abortion provider in the nation. It is worth noting that the institute's research was funded through a federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.

On August 1, TVC sent the following letter to Capitol Hill offices: LETTER

This legislation is based on the same premise as Rep. John Hostettler’s (R-IN) H.R. 2679, the Public Expression of Religion Act. The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Property Rights held a hearing on Brownback’s bill on August 2nd and provided a webcast for it.

Brownback’s version, like Hostettler’s, is designed to close a loophole in federal law that the ACLU and other anti-Christian groups use to file lawsuits against public displays of religion in America. When these groups win lawsuits, they are awarded attorneys fees from the losers in the case. In effect, the ACLU is funding its anti-Christian activities on taxpayer money from hundreds of lawsuits filed over the past decade.

This isn't a flame or an attempt to start one, but this has been bothering me and I want to bring it up, because the ENTIRE gay community is ignoring this, and you know that there are a lot of people in the community who will do this very thing (because they always do).

It has to do with the various religion's fears that if gay marriage is made legal, that they may be forced to perform them. A lot of people say 'oh that isn't going to happen', but we all know damn well that A LOT of people WILL try to force them to do it, and there is a good chance they'll win.

After all, the precedent has already been set. And all the religious leaders know it and fear it. So does everyone who goes to any kind of church. This is why gay marriage is now officially DOA and will never pass in the USA.

I am of course talking about how the Catholic Church in the entire state of Massachusetts has been forced out of the Adoption business. The Catholic church has been placing children and running adoption services for over a thousand years. But they will not place children with gay couples. Why? Because it is against their religion! But the State told them 'We're going to violate your religious beliefs and force you to do it'.

Now lets be honest, there are other adoption agencies and services out there, the Catholic church is just the largest one (and people hate Catholics), was the Catholic church's refusal to place children in gay households keeping gay couples from adopting children? No, of course not, it's silly to even claim it. But the State came in and told the Church that they were NOT allowed freedom of religion (goodbye first amendment?) and they had to do this or else.

So the Church got out of the Adoption business (And the liberals were surprised!! What the FUCK did they think would happen???) and litterally thousands of children are left to bear the brunt of this stupid idea. Thank you gay activists! (And people wonder why I DO NOT support any gay movements anymore - too many assclowns with no idea of the laws of unintended consequences. Just like those two gals who brought that lawsuit, they weren't interested in marriage, otherwise they wouldn't have split already. They just wanted to rock the boat to get their rocks off).

So anyway, everyone who goes to church or is a member of any religion looks at what happened in Massachusetts and they KNOW that if gay marriage becomes legal, that a bunch of gays will sue to force Chruch's who find it abhorrent to perform them. And that some Judge with a God complex will agree with them. And the saddest part of all of this? I KNOW this will happen and you know it will too. There are too many 'in your face' gay people out there who use this stuff to cause problems. They're not looking for 'equality' cause they could care less. They just want to make a big scene, get on TV, and play drama queen.

And people like me, who've had the same partner for over a decade are the ones who end up getting fucked by this. I have to deal with the reactions and the inevitable backlash. These people, who have never been in a relationship for more than a month, much less a year, always seem to think they're doing me a favor (after getting over the shock that we've been together longer than 99% of every couple they've ever known) and can't understand why I want nothing to do with them anymore. Because I have to live with their track record, they don't.

Sorry for the rant. But when it comes to gay marriage, gay activists have done more damage than the fundies will ever do.
