I got a calculator. It's a TI Sealclubber 68000 with a good stats package; when I talked to Dr. Callis, he said I needed a TI-84 Silver if I wanted to take it with me for a while - he uses the previous version of that same calculator - but when I played with it, I really disliked the interface, so I spent the extra $20 for the TI-69 Titanium, which, from my Apple experience, would lead me to believe it's made from titanium, but of course it's not.
Laaaaaaaaaaame.
Still, I like the programmability (BASIC and 68K assembler), I like the interface, I like the stats package that I didn't even have to download - it turned out to be already on the machine - and I downloaded a bunch of compatibility software so I can run a bunch more applications, the only ones of which I've actually downloaded being periodic table apps of varying degrees of snazziness. (This took more work than it sounds like it should've.)
Now I just need a new label for it. Tho' I wouldn't mind a way to sync its onboard scheduler to iCal. TISync appears never to have made it past 1.0alpha and doesn't seem to like my Powerbook's iCal install, so that doesn't work, and Google has not been illuminating. I suspect I'll have to do without.
Saturday's miles: 3.1
Sunday's token: 0.9
Monday's miles: 13.0
Miles out of Hobbiton: 966.7
Miles out of Rivendell: 508.7
Miles out of Lothlórien: 46.7
Miles to Rauros Falls: 342.3
I actually biked to school and bussed back today, because zomg SO HOT, as previously noted. The good discovery: if I get out of the house 15 minutes early, I get to the classroom a few minutes earlier than I would by bus. (Around 11 miles, doing approximately 4.5 minute miles, a bit over 13mph sustained, whole trip, mostly in 3,6 and a little in 3,7.) But, of course, I don't get to do my morning textbook/notes review, which I like, so I probably won't make a habit of it.
I am both ahead of where I need to be in both my homework and reading and at the same time feeling desperately behind.

As Though Painted
It's only now starting to cool down just a bit in the house. It was too hot to shower tonight - well, mostly, I didn't want to add all that heat to the house(!) - so I'm going to have to get up a bit earlier tomorrow and shower then. At least tomorrow's quiz section is in the EE building, which is blessedly air conditioned.
