One part of my little activism appears to have made The Stranger's blog. Apparently, the "not for publication" part of the letter kind of went over their heads, but they were kind enough not to print my email address, so I'm fine with that. Still: surprising! (Surprising they thought it worth printing...)

and as per usual on the internet, one of the first comments is from some dipshit conservative fuckmonkey whose first thought isn't "wow that's wrong and fucked", it's "how is this different from when someone I don't like does it?"

The metric for shitty behavior shouldn't be "everyone does it" for people who claim the moral and ethical high ground, for fucks sake. Just more proof that far too many people don't really think the high ground is as important as making sure their side wins.

And to be fair, it's not just conservatives who do this, though they certainly have been trying to corner the market on it lately. It pisses me off even more when someone I otherwise agree with does something like this.

It's also not limited to the Internet. Cable news channels are full of this crap.
