Oct. 24th, 2005 10:54 amOops. Accidental posting. Sorry!
But since it's here, I might ask well make it make some sense. This is a chunk of Harriet Miers' questionairre response - the response set that earned such scorn from the Senate last week. Specifically, it's from the employment section. Looking it over, I have to say that I have to agree with the Senate - this whole thing is insane, not just this chunk. I mean, honestly - she's listing all these positions and can't even be bothered to have a flunky go out and get the dates? She's listing contact information, so it's not like she doesn't know who to call.
And just between you and me, anybody who can't be bothered to fill out the application completely doesn't deserve a lifetime appointment to anything.
(Details-oriented my shiny metal ass...)

Date: 2005-10-24 07:11 pm (UTC)Still, I don't know that yet, and we're clearly seeing the kind of shakeout - finally - that'll bring the fundamentalists into the full public spotlight, I hope. I mean, it's looking like James Dobson will be brought in front of the Senate judicial committee soon, and I'm looking forward to people getting to question him other oath. It'll be neat to see what he has to say.
Unfortunately, with half the people in the Republican party being in it for the anti-abortion and anti-gay politics, that doesn't mean the problem goes away any time soon. But it does mean that the rest of the party, as well as the moderate middle, might actually get a real look at the people dictating social policy on the right. That has the potential to be enlightening.
