I have professional musicians in my family, and many of my friends have been, or are now, "working" musicians. Many of them also work at music stores to make ends meet.

Nobody becomes a serious musician because they think they're going to get rich, (except for maybe some rap/hip-hop artists.) Most do it because they love making music and making people happy through sharing that music.

Art is a noble profession and should be exuberantly supported.
