More Mushrooms
Nov. 15th, 2004 07:35 pmThese are growing in front of a house about three blocks away. I think they're quite pretty.
First, the less interesting one; this is one of a zillion LBMs hanging out in front of the house:

Now, the pretty one; I like the colour and texture both. It's quite a dry little thing, too.
The top; this one had fallen over or gotten kicked, I don't know which, so I felt free to take it home:

Here's a shot of the stem, with the interesting stem ring:

And a shot of the gills.

All of these were on the ground, in an area with a bunch of bark coverage used as groudcover. This large one was one of the smallest of the group; I'd think it was Armillaria, except it's so dark and that was typical for all of them, and the little guide I have call it white/yellow. Whatever it is, it's gorgeous.

Pretty, pretty 'shrooms... used to get a lot of different ones back when I lived in the boro... especially near my friend Dria's (Adrianna's) house up on the hill... don't get very many interesting things like that anymore, living in the city :(
