Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat and I went down to MurkSouth and hauled the couch, small computer dolly, and entertainment centre stuff up to MurkNorth. Godt Dammit that couch was heavy. Completely wiped me out. I mean, seriously, as in barely-made-it-in-the-door-on-the-other-end wiped out. But it's up here!

Then he and [livejournal.com profile] annathepiper and I went to sushi and had - I'm serious - the best sushi evar. And I've had a lot of good fish. The chef was doing nigiri pairs where one side would be standard - though he was playing with light lemony sauces on those - and the other side would have something surprising on it, or maybe just sea salt. The aji was stunning and the kanpachi was un. fucking. believable. They also had some Japanese scallops flown in from, er, Japan this morning, and while the standard-form was nice, he put a white sauce on the other one and braised the centre with a torch which - well, again, un. fucking. believable. The hamachi was also unusually good.

Every time you start getting kind of used to I Heart, they pull something like that and crank it up another level.

Oh, and I finally tried the central vacuum yesterday, too. This is also very cool. I understand now why almost everybody in Canada has these things. It's got the head-maneuverability of a canister, but without the actual canister to drag about. I was mildly worried that the suction would be poor, but it's good. I forsee more liklihood of actual vacuuming in the future, but at least it does take less time. ^_^

Otherwise, life has mostly been packing, moving, and unpacking. There's still furniture down at MurkSouth; we can't move the servers until next Wednesday, at best, which means we can't move the desk either (it's too likely we'd bump, say, door, and then door falls over and goes boom and nobody is happy), and and and.

Fuck, there's still a lot of crap down there. Furniture, art, some boxes of Stuff (tm) but fortunately that's mostly moved... gah. Oh well, more to do. But probably not today. My hands still hurt from yesterday!
