I haven't blown a weekend afternoon gaming in a long time

...but I did today! Gunbound is simple and lots of fun. starfallz pointed me at it and while it does inexplicably require a 3d-accelerated graphics card, my five year old RIVA TNT2 in my similarly ancient PIII/550 handles it just fine. (Sadly, there's no Mac version.)

I was also up until 2:30 playing Saturday night, so the thing is kind of addictive. Which is good, 'cause it's been a while since a game has been this addictive. ^_^

annathepiper and I also ran to the Ave and ran a couple of errands; I got a book at the bookstore and looked over the remodel disapprovingly. They've licked out the espresso stand, and that was the best place to get an Italian soda on the Ave. They're putting in their own cafe because they decided they wanted that nickel. And they've rearranged the art supplies section so that it's now dominated by this central counter - it feels like there's a lot less room and fewer supplies now. Maybe they'll be getting in new shelving or something to fix it; I hope so. But it feels poorly laid out and wasteful of space.

The only good thing I can say about the new arrangement is that it should be easier for them to notice shoplifters. Presumably, that's the point.

I showed someone around the rental house for a second time on Saturday. Cross your fingers for a reasonable offer, or do whatever sort of ritual you do for that kind of thing... we are!

I love gunbound! That game rocks seriously. I've managed to obtain the covetted rank of double wood axe. *chuckles* I think. *peers* Unfortunately, due to server updating, I cannot currently log on to make sure of my rank. But Gunbound rocks. Very cute, addictive and fun. And I love the way they handled the 'how do we make money on our game' question. Instead of charging for gameplay or for copies of the game, the fine makers of Gunbound outright sell money cards that allow you to spend real money on fake game money! So if you suck too much to play good enough to earn enough for that spiffy new suit of armor you want, you can just pay $10 and buy it. Yeah.

So what time/what server do you usually play on?

There's no "usually" yet - yesterday was only the second day I've played! ^_^

So far I've mostly been on server four, though. We were on server 3 first, but there was too much sucking there, so we moved up one.

Derek plays, and I can attest that it seems addictive! He is chibilizard (and a very chibi lizard he is). I'll see if he wants to look y'all up....
