Life and stuff

solarbirdI've had one of those couple of weeks when you've been doing a lot of stuff that feels like nothing, much too much of it being about house maintenance and stuff like that. I'm really tired of doing this so much and am looking forward to doing less of it.
Mostly other than that, I've been looking at houses - we're going to try to make an offer on one Very Soon Now (tm), I posted pictures to my friends list a couple of days ago. I kind of suspect we won't get it, now that I know the bid history; they want too much for it and, despite not getting much in the way of interest, haven't shown a lot of interest in coming down in price. They're old, and it was their custom-built house, so it wouldn't at all surprise me if they weren't under any real pressure to sell any time soon.
I'm still looking for more/other houses, of course. Blah! But that doesn't take long at this time of year - the new-listings any given week at this point only mean like six or 12 new houses at a shot.
I did get my cards all done, though. Mmmmmm, silver ink on black envelopes. It's a new look for me, but I like it with this year's card, and the post office is apparently managing to deliver them without any delay, so yay!
And I really need to try to make some time to sing. I just don't know how. Yesterday, I had two 20 minute dead-times before going to bed, and that's been kind of typical, and I have all these other things I HAVE to get done. No. Like. I.
Speaking of which, I'm out of time for this, too. Off to rent a carpet steamer...
