THANK YOU, WEATHER GODS
Jun. 8th, 2003 09:26 amIt cooled off last night.
Meanwhile:
0: Went to dinner at Cedars and to see Finding Nemo with
annathepiper,
spazzkat,
juanal, and Stacey (who I don't think has an LJ) at The Metro. When we got to the restaurant, we noticed that it wasn't, in fact, air conditioned, which is something I was afraid of - I went inside and nearly passed out. (Seriously, I started to black out and held onto the wall for a minute.) So we started to go somewhere else, but they stopped us and said they had an open table outside and sat us there, so I didn't have to leave. Very lucky for me. Their idea of spicy food has taken a decided and sharp turn towards the mild, though. I'll have to make sure to say that I really mean it, next time.
1: Finding Nemo: better than I expected, probably my least favourite Pixar film anyway. I have weird issues with it and I can't even entirely figure out why, other than the idea of being stuck underwater permanently triggers my claustrophobia. I realise there is a direct parallel here between the surface of the water and the top of the atmospheric envelope of the Earth. I try not to think about that too much. No, seriously. Hi, I'm Neuroses Girl. And yes, I identified with Dory. (Even if I kept thinking of annoying local radio host Dori Monson.)
2: Artjam: pretty fun, though not as fun as when the Canadians are there; did four pencil drawings - sketches, really, but ready to ink - of various quality and taste. I did an awful thing to Kero-chan, though. <giggles>
spazzkat came along, too. The big surprise came when he recognised one of the other people there, and put together that he'd been to our house back in late 2001. Neither of us had recognised the other at all, but he recognised Spazz. Some email will probably be exchanged, but it's mostly just slightly embarrassing.
3: Landlordy Angst Abates: Finally having some rental luck at 5026. Now we just need, um, a lot more of that.
-4: Parties across the street and elsewhere last night, again. Haven't surveyed for damage yet. (They appear to have cleaned up after; that's new. So maybe it won't be too bad.) We have got to move. I see Paul - our agent - on Thursday.
-5: Landlordy Angst Returns with the tenants in Din. (They're tenants, not housemates.) Part of this is probably still expecting them to act like housemates, which is, after all, what they said they wanted to be, but that got thrown out as soon as they'd signed the rental agreement.
6: Almost done making mp3s out of my Japanese II cassettes. One more to go! ^_^
7: I'm so looking forward to getting back to Aikido in August. W00t! (I can't before then. Friends know why.)
8: 90+ degrees in Seattle in June is INSANE. But I said that. A nice comfortable 55 overnight, on the other hand, I can handle. Staying caffinated helped with the heat; useful for future reference.
-9: Upweight, unexpectedly. :(
10: Making airline reservations for the Thailand trip, finally, today. The return flight will leave BKK at 7am. SEVEN A.M.. Bluh. But they're all like that. What is wrong with these airlines? But at least I'll have tickets. I haven't done it already just because I'm waiting for
annathepiper to wake up and say the flight times are awful before I click "go ahead and buy the tickets anyway."
++++++++11: Ah, blessed coolness.

Date: 2003-06-08 10:44 am (UTC)The Indian restaurant that we used to go to near Northgate has also take a turn for the worse.
That means we need to find a new and good Indian restaurant. This may be difficult, as my standards have gotten higher since we went to England.
