Michael Knowles calls for trans people to be “eradicated” at CPAC, to applause from the audience. “There can be no middle way in dealing with transgenderism. It can be all or nothing,” he said. “For the good of society,” he said, again, to applause.

It is a call for genocide, and the “conservative movement” is fascist.

There is, as there was in the 80s and 90s against lesbians and gays, a fig-leaf of conversion, a pretense that being trans is a delusion, a mental illness, and that trans people – as they said about gays and lesbians – don’t actually exist, and that with the right punishment and oppression LGBT people will somehow stop being lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, or whatever, and conform.

But it’s a fig leaf and a lie, and they don’t believe it, or don’t care whether it’s true, and never did.

This is a call for genocide, being made openly, unapologetically, and to applause.

He’s not even the only one doing it; he’s just the most forthright about eradication.

And that’s why it leads both newsletters today. Really, it should be the only thing in both; it’s all that needs saying. It should be the only item, because there is no lower point; they’ve reached the bottom, just above actually killing people directly, themselves.

Just above it.

But as always, there is more.

Alaska’s Republican Attorney General Treg Taylor has officially ordered reversal of state policy on anti-LGBT discrimination and halted several discrimination cases in process, declaring it generally okay outside of employment.

Law Dork has a good and current roundup of anti-LGBT bills currently being passed by Republican states. Oklahoma’s is probably the worst, in his opinion.

Texas Republicans have just introduced a bill that would ban LGBT characters from books in school libraries. All trans characters at all, of course, but also all hints of relationships between characters of the same sex.

The New York Times continues to try to wish a backlash against liberalism into existence, by laundering credentials of rightists, casting them moderates, and giving them opinion page space to talk about how silenced and oppressed they are. In footnote four, you’ll find that the writer they gave space to here compared campaigning against trans people favourably to campaigning against literal Nazis in Germany in the 1930s – which, again, merges the “fascism” newsletter and the “culture war” newsletter, and illustrates why they’re so damned hard to separate anymore.

Talking of impossible-to-separate; “My son is transgender; Please stop trying to kill him,” writes one San Francisco mother. Of course, they will not. Killing LGBT people is half the point. (Backup link.)

Tennessee’s new law requires heatlh-care termination for trans kids by 2024. People are going to need help relocating, as in monetary aid. Be ready, if you can.

The trans woman targeted for slander by the Daily Mail talks about her experience to Rolling Stone. It’s part of a pattern, obviously, of bad faith and ill intent.

Ron Peri, a DeSantis appointee on his anti-Disney panel, has previously called LGBTQ people an “evil” that must be constrained by society. They believe that “evil” should be eradicated, by the by, and not in some sort of casual “bad things are bad” way, but through whatever means necessary. See how this relates to the above? Anyway, he’s saying that tap water might be turning people gay.

A reader/performer at Canadian drag queen storytime events in Ontario describes the turn last September, and the start of death threats – and why she won’t stop.

OP of this toot points out the reason why Fox News is dragging Pete Buttigeg into this unrelated story on child abuse; it’s because they always try to assign child molestation to LGBT people. It’s a dog-whistle and smear campaign, and entirely intentional – the sort of things fundamentalists have done against LGBT people my entire life.

Assigned Media goes into the new anti-LGBT line, specifically anti-trans of course, that the overwhelming benefits of transition for LGBT people is a temporary illusion they are calling a “honeymoon phase.” This is just the latest lie, of course, but he digs into it.

But as always, there is more.

Explict neo-Nazis met with Republican Congressman Matt Rosendale last week at the Capitol building. These are open neo-Nazis who call for genocide against LGBT people, praise Hitler, the whole nine yards, and have been involved in violence. Here’s a photo of them with Congressman Matt Rosendale. Here are photos of them in the Hart Senate Office Building, where they claimed they were invited by a Senator.

The Republican Party is fascist.

Alaska’s Republican Attorney General Treg Taylor has officially ordered reversal of state policy on anti-LGBT discrimination and halted several discrimination in process, declaring it generally okay outside of employment. This is also duplicated, since authorising persecution is always a step on the road to genocide.

Republican Drew Springer wants to criminalise using credit cards to pay for any form of abortion, and – as per their previous anti-abortion bills – allow anyone in the state to sue, and has introduced a bill to that effect. You might note a similar plot point in the recent Andor miniseries, which is set in the rise of the Imperial dictatorship in Star Wars. Same techniques, same plans, same intent.

Texas Republicans were trying to ban Chinese people from buying homes in the state, but they’ve backed off in the face of protest.

Deeper coverage on Fox News and the January 6th coup attempt: For Fox, “January 6 was the cost of doing business” writes Aaron Rupar. It’s a deep dig on Rupert Murdoch’s deposition.
