we haven't used the AC since smoke season
Sep. 4th, 2021 12:46 pmZero energy air exchange cooling. It works.

This is not pushing it to maximums, because that makes it too effective in these temperature ranges, and the house gets too cold. We discovered this by doing it.

I suppose strictly speaking it's not actually zero energy, since the system does take power to run the monitoring system, and the whole-house air filter/recirculation is running as well. But none of that is directly cooling, and all combined it's well under one amp.
We haven't needed the AC since smoke season (hopefully) ended, back on August 15th.
Obviously this replies on cool nights. Not all solutions apply equally well everywhere, and I'm not pretending they do.
But in the right climates, even in major cities, this is viable.
