yep I'm still going on about this

I just dropped Coexistence Alpha v0.82. If you are on Dreamwith on mobile, like, ever, you want this, because it makes it work.

Seriously, nested comment chains are trivially readable and replyable on mobile with this applied. Horizontal scrolling? I mock your horizontal scrolling. It honours user customisation through the settings panels now (including left and right user icon positioning, which the first alpha didn't) and I just dropped a bunch of Navbar 2 fixes for Android browers so hopefully that's better now too. And comment depth markers on mobile now work on comments without subject lines.

If I could just stick Navbar 3 on this, goddamn. But I can't, that requires more changes than I can do just in CSS.

that took longer than I expected

So where the hell have I been for the last week?

Well, last post as about Anna’s sinus surgery, and first: it went fine, she’s fine, we’re going back today to have the nose splints removed. There’ll still be a couple of more weeks of recovery. But there was a lot more aftercare than I realised – including tending about every 20 minutes for the first three days, all day. And while none of it was difficult, that does kind of disrupt one’s ability to do anything.

Except, apparently, code. So I have my first sizable coding project in a while – if CSS counts a code, anyway – and it makes Dreamwidth work on mobile in a way that looks like it was actually meant to be used on mobile. Seriously. Here’s the latest post on that project, you want the bleeding-edge version and please do report bugs on that Dreamwidth post.

Also, there has been far more Overwatch than usual. I haven’t beaten the current event on Expert yet, but I’ve beaten the levels below. I tried the highest level a couple of times, but we only made it to the church once and barely got there.

And here we go. Fascism watch: "UK was given details of alleged contacts between Trump campaign and Moscow," reported The Guardian on Friday. Basically, the dossier was handed over the UK intelligence agencies for vetting and additional research. "Donald Trump Is Now Threatening Both Koreas," since one war, two wars, maybe three wars, all not enough.

On the good side, it looks like we might have Gorka on the way out: "White House Weighs Kicking Out Sebastian Gorka," followed yesterday by "Sebastian Gorka leaving White House as soon as 'this summer'." I guess being a literal neonazi isn't quite okay yet - though it is good enough for media, with "Why Neo-Nazis Are Kvelling Over Tucker Carlson."

A rightist would-be terrorist attack in Kentucky: "‘You are safe,’ Transylvania [University] attacker says to Republican student in coffee shop." Believe it or not, I have experience with this school, and they are Not a liberal institution; if they're to liberal for this guy, we have to assume he's a literal fascist of some sort. There were literal overt fascists here, too: "Trump holds a 100-day rally on friendly turf, snubbing the White House Correspondents' Dinner" but I lost the link.

This is important: "Canada fought the war on science. Here’s how scientists won." I watched this fight, it was long and hard but a lot of data was saved.

In cultural warfare, "Gay-Conversion Therapy Ban Survives as Supreme Court Rejects Appeal" is good news. "These Gay Republicans Mocked Transgender Women At A Forum In New York City" is exactly what you'd expect out of that sort of "we only don't hate queers because we're gay and so we only don't hate gay white guys" you'd expect out of Gay Republicans. Meanwhile, "Trump Appoints HHS Spokesperson with Ugly Trail of Anti-Trans Comments," and they're really bad.

Finally, in racism: "Trump revives 'Pocahontas' insult of Elizabeth Warren" - his base loves the race-baiting. "ICE data shows half of immigrants arrested in raids had traffic convictions or no record" is just demonstration of yet another lie.
