Playing with the new G9

Pear on Tree (macro test)

Original is 4000x3000, ISO200, manual focus. Here's a crop of a 1215x847px section, also reduced to 640x480 because I kind of thought I'd post it via an img tag instead of an href, but I changed my mind. This is using only iPhoto and not anything smart, so these are pretty basic images and are completely unadjusted.

I'm liking the G9 very much.

Riot

ISO 200, autofocus, 1/50th of a second exposure at, hum, f2.8 or so? I forget. 4000x3000 original image, exported at 800x600 from iPhoto and cropped to the relevant posted area in Preview. (Had I cropped first, the crop size from the original would have been, um, 2645x2645.)

Still in JPG mode, but here are some actual pixels cropped 1:1 from a 3000x4000 original, along with a (recompressed and severely reduced) original so you can see the relative size of the crop.
