solarbird: (molly-content)
Does anybody out there know a roof cleaner? We have moss issues that need to go away now, and I'm not allowed to do things like climb on roofs until next autumn (one year after the accident). Plus, I don't have a pressure washer and such.

The past week's miles, more or less: 9.1
Miles out of Hobbiton: 1521.9
Miles out of Rivendell: 1064.9
Miles out of Lothlórien: 609.9
Miles past Rauros Falls: 192.0
Miles to Isengard: 274.7

I've spent the whole day inside working on taxes. And it's the nicest day of the year. I feel like a moron, but on the other hand, taxes really do take two solid days of prep. I hate that. On the other hand, yesterday there was a Chinese New Year celebration on campus, and I had fun going to that. I was best in the round of the bamboo game we played.

Reki

I've got a CWU started, I'll poke more at that tonight or tomorrow. Until then, here's some linkfarming:

North Sea output expectations dropped another 10%.

The IEA ups its oil demand growth forecast, and says further that "barring a global economic slowdown, oil demand growth will again outpace the growth in new oil supplies in three years as in 2003-04." Note that those years saw oil prices roughly double.

There was a substantial shift in dollar inflow/outflow numbers in December. This should be watched to see whether it is the start of a trend, or a one-off. Hopefully, it's the latter. However, without severe deficit adjustment - and I mean real deficit numbers, not the cooked off-budget partial-payment bullshit that gets tossed around by the government, I mean including things like Iraq war costs - it won't be a one-off for all that long.

On a lighter note, [livejournal.com profile] jwz links to two funny videos, both of which made me laff.

Courtesy [livejournal.com profile] stickmaker, let's go Hiking Mars!

I'm not sure which part is funnier; a baby boomer trying to extend the baby boom down to age 30, or calling... anyone, really.... a bunch of attention whores;

Ever wondered what DNA replication looked like?

I hadn't previously seen this bike-route mapper, but it looks useful to me.

Okay, enough of that. Here, have some quizzies. )
