the air hates me, but the flowers don't

Worst allergy day of the year, by a lot. I awoke at a little before 5am with a flood of evil in my nose and a heavy heavy dose of that must-claw-all-the-skin-off-my-face nails-on-chalkboard high-pitched-whine-that-makes-your-skin-quivver pain. I got a bit better later in the morning but it's back now in heavy attack. Right now I'm alternating between wanting to scream and hating everyone who doesn't get attacked by the air around them, which is unfair but god dammit this is horrible. This is one step away from the literally-blinding (because you can't focus or really open your eyes) migraine-like sinus pain that I've so far managed to avoid this year. I'm on full or over-doses of everything that actually works, and have kicked up my metabolism with caffeine. (It's like a migraine, but as a bonus, includes itching inside your head!) It's helping a little.

Anyway.

After helping spazzkat move another truckload of stuff in Monster, I got him to show me the basics of his camera, and now I have more flower pictures. Since his digital camera is much better than mine, I have some nice close shots, too. So here's today's flower picture, which does not feature this new development - you'll just have to wait for the really close shots:



I don't know what it is, but it's kind of nice. Two more under the cut, since it's been a while since I posted any.

In other news, CLAMP School Detectives is just weird. I like CLAMP; I like most of the things CLAMP puts out; I like CLAMP School; I love that it has Gamura Hall. But the Detectives permutation ... weird. I think I'll reread volume one of the collected and see if it gets any less weird, but I kind of doubt it will.

I also talked some with Vicka on Friday about grad school research stuff, and spent what time I wasn't spending helping Paul move on Saturday reading over a bunch of stuff on relevant web sites. Vicka said she'd look over stuff before I sent anything in, for which I am very grateful. I don't know what might come of it, and I still don't know what questions I should even be asking about to pursue this from the neuro side, so those are other things I'm still thinking about.

And last night, we watched the last episode of the new Doctor Who (27x12 and 27x13 - god damn those are big season numbers ^_^ ) and yea, it was good.

There was something else I was going to mention, so I might edit to put that in if I remember. Knowing me, that will be in five minutes.
