Printing is Hard
Sep. 6th, 2003 12:31 pmGetting printing to work from MacOS 10.2.6 to a Win2K Professional's printer is difficult. But I get to do the I WIN dance anyway, because this page gave me enough clues to figure out how to do it without downgrading smbclient or smbspool.
(It's not a problem if the printer is on XP Home, or Win9X, or anything else that allows share-level permissions, or, for that matter, Win2K Server or WinXP Server or any other Win* Server, because the other clients don't react strangely to MacOS's 10.2.5/6 smbclient, and because the server platforms include Appletalk services. But it's a BIG problem for Win2K Workstation. Oh, the annoying!)
Anyway. Printy print print printy print! Yay!
( And now, for your moment of Quizzie )
