I don't think I do that, but I've intentionally fucked up peoples' lives pretty bad before nonetheless - in self-defence, I stress, but still, quite intentionally. Was I seeing them as objects? I don't think so, but I did see them trying to destroy me, and I defended myself, and would do so again.

It might help to remember that important bit, though. They'll destroy you, for fun, and enjoy it. They absolutely see you as an object. You can even see it in MRI scans; if someone sees a person as a person, how they process that person is different to how their brain processes the visual data if they see that person as an object, or a tool to be used.

Maybe you can't do that. Maybe that's for the best. But hopefully, at least, you can learn to defend yourself nonetheless.
