It's pretty terrifying, the way people just fall in with outright psychopaths like that.

My career is one that demands high levels of self-confidence and borderline ruthless desire to outperform people around us. I have encountered several sociopaths that wouldn't last a day on the outside. It is terrifying sometimes, but extremely interesting at other times. Politics I would wager is another career path that rewards the same traits that make up a sociopath. That is not to say that in one brush stroke everyone is a sociopath who chooses that career path, but there is certainly something to be said about a person who has the fortitude to carry on in such an environment without possessing those traits.
