The little 486/33sx I use in my sculpture studio as a dumb terminal can't play mp3s. It's too slow to decode them in time. Or at least MediaPlayer is. It loads the file and runs for 2-3 seconds and then just sits there, trying to catch its breath, before it runs for another second or two and stops again. Sound never makes it out to the speakers. It's a sad, sad computer.

WinAmp is better than MediaPlayer on this machine. But only marginally. It manages to push sound out the speakers, but only in little half-second bursts that're followed by about two seconds of silence.

This is not a good way to listen to music. ^_^
