Is that a cymbalom?

um... I'm not sure if it qualifies. I mean, technically, I think so, because the hammers that came with and are used with it are double-sided and it has the damper bars (which are two criteria listed on the cymbalom as differentiating them from "folk hammered dulcimers") and it is most specifically built as a concert instrument. But the body isn't as deep as any of the cymbaloms illustrated in the article you reference, and that looks like a clear differentiation in structure.

So... I'm not sure. If there's a difference between "concert hammered dulcimer" and "cymbalom," then it's probably not the latter. If not: then yes, I guess so.

Ellen just calls it her concert hammer dulcimer. She has another one she takes around for playing informally sometimes, which lacks the dampers, and is smaller, so clearly not a cymbalom.

Yeah, it's a really nice instrument. Surprisingly loud, too, for a hammer dulcimer.
