macbook goes thunk die ;_;

So my Macbook just fell over ded. The HD is some variety of toast, I don't know what exactly but while Disk Repair (booted off CD-ROM) can see it, it can't touch it in any way. So, I'm kinda fucked on multiple levels, since this is also my recording machine. Anyway, this means you probably won't see much this week.

At least I have Time Machine backups. Yay.

To be fair, we got Dara that MacBook in 2006, so it's managed to last just over two years; it's not like it up and died less than a week out of the shop or something. Also: the unit in question was refurbished from Apple's online store, so there's no telling how old the hard drive in it was at the time.

So to sum up, not quite as extremely wrong as that, but still pretty damned annoying.
