best worst idea this month

If a bunch of you bastards can try to knock out a crap novel in a month, I figure I can at least try to write the crap soundtrack.

NaNoteWriMo '07.
50 minutes, 30 days. Booyah.

The target is [livejournal.com profile] cow's idea; you lot are writing a short novel, I'm writing a short album's worth of music to match. It'll probably mostly be instrumental flute music. And why yes, today, I have met quota. Tomorrow? We'll just have to see. Muah.

[ETA: Apparently, there is also DrawMo, a drawing a day for the month of November.]

Now THAT is a GOOD IDEA.

For some reason, this seems to me like it'd actually be rather more likely to generate a worthwhile product than NaNoWriMo.

Yeah, I think that the requirement to have some degree of skill and/or talent is more widely recognized for music than for writing. With writing, I think a lot of people kinda figure that if they can talk, they can write, but with music, I think it's a bit easier to tell whether or not you're actually making something worthwhile.

Bah. Rossini wrote an entire three-hour opera in two and a half weeks.
