Okay I have to post this

Okay, retail? Retail is stupid money. HEY, RETAIL INVESTORS ACTING LIKE THIS! YEAH, YOU. YOU'RE THE GUYS THEY RIP OFF. DON'T KNOW WHO THE SUCKER AT THE TABLE IS? THAT MEANS IT'S YOU. I mean damn, people:
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Individual investors increased their holdings of stocks in June ... Investors held 52.9% of assets in stocks and stock funds, up 1.9 percentage points from May and compared to the historical average of 60%, according to a survey by AAII.
If it takes you six months to notice a stock trend? DON'T BE IN STOCKS.

I need some sort of banging-head-against-wall icon.

THE MARKET HAS TO GO UP SOON! I'LL BUY MORE STOCK!

me? i don't want to start fucking around individually with puts and calls, because i know i am the sucker at that table, but i really would like to find a fund that says "we think everything will suck more, and we're going to bet accordingly. COME ON BOARD." because i would be all over that shit.

God, yes. I'm trying to figure out what to do with 401k money, where the choices are limited -- I'd just be happy with a "here, let us stick this in a box for you so it doesn't lose value" option at this point. All my available choices suck.

We are wholly in cash at the moment, outside the NAFTAsphere. Next week or so should be very interesting.

(We've never been **absolutely** in cash, before. This is a first.)

Indeed. We're actually in okay shape for almost any realistic contingency barring something implausible like the closure of the northern borders, which would be merely inconvenient.

That's actually plausible, although unverifiable. ^_^

That was pretty much what came to my mind as well. I've spent too much time on the Chans...
