It would be sooooo nice to have high-speed rail here in the US... Especially with the uniformed goons at the TSA, etc. etc. While I can fly from Indianapolis to Las Vegas in 5 hours of flight time, have to add in 4 hours for airport nonsense (security, waiting for McCarren's NOTORIOUSLY HORRIBLY SLOW baggage claim [seriously, plan AT LEAST 40 minutes AFTER getting to baggage claim], etc.)...

Even if I had to make a couple connections, and even at the normal pokey 200MPH, that'd be maybe 11 or 12 hours by rail (it's 1800 miles, give or take, by car), and I'd have far more of my precious sanity still left... and that's on a fairly long commute.
