Scattered Pastels

This is another that suffers badly from compression down to 100kb, losing much of its delicacy. I have to up the contrast a bit more than I'd like to try to keep it together at that filesize. ;_;

Unrelatedly, if the piece of bamboo I'm working on turns in to a flute, its name may be Scar.

Today I'm not as sure that I like the lower contrast better; I think it might be a wash. But I certainly like the detail better in this less-compressed version.

Of course, the 5mp (2592x1944) original has much better detail than either. ^_^

One thing I'm noticing a lot with the G9 is that I'm doing a lot less fixing work in general, which means I don't have to throw stuff onto the Photoshop machine (Ye Olde Windows 2000 box) for futzing. I like that. (What I really want, of course, is a newer version of Photoshop that runs on OSX.)
