Apple ][s shipped in 1977, though. The Apple I was 1976, mostly (entirely?) sold as a kit. Later there was the ][+, and maybe that was post-1980, but the cases were the same - they just had a new label. (And more RAM inside, and more graphics and a couple of things.) When I had the library job, I came across a whole set of old Creative Computings from the dawn of the microcomputer era and I read through a lot of 'em.
