I hope the candidate does return, but I suspect that, in the end, it is fruitless. He speaks a lot about what issues he likes, and that he is not a puppet. However, I think what he HASN'T said speaks volumes. He ignores completely your commentary on feeling threatened as a member of the GLBT community. He doesn't even hint at it? Why? Well, my impression, just from this exchange, is that he quite likely is with the fundamentalist groups on this issue, and while he wants to stress to the world the other things he supports or opposes, he is wanting, in this forum, to be less quiet about his views on the GLBT front.
If he really wants to make his point understood, he should step up and speak to the point at hand. Tell us, the GLBT community, whether he feels we should be second-class citizens, or even if he feels we should all be jailed, stoned, or done away with, as all of the groups we are talking about here do.
