I can has latest article.

My latest article for TechNet - "IMAP Saves the World" - is out. It's about using IMAP4 to consolidate mail folders and retrieve records from old archives. And while it's a very short and simple article, it would be nice to please to go rate 5 stars now. Thanks! ^_^

Oh yeah, Sunday

Sunday's busking gig at Lake Forest Park was unexpectedly well-rewarded, and somebody asked for a card. So that was good. Flute music did almost as well as mandolin music on a good day, which was refreshing. Then I came home to mini-jam with [livejournal.com profile] annathepiper and [livejournal.com profile] sutures1, and saw that Anna had bought banana creme pie, and I wanted to know what kind of Stooges she was expecting, because hitting a Stooge in the face is the only context in which I've ever seen use for banana creme.

I need to write more mandolin music that stays interesting when played a cappella.

Oh, and I haven't broken a string since Bellevue, but I did break another pick - another experimental one, a "Cool" brand thin pick. It split in the middle, without breaking out to the edges, at the base of the special grip section. So I guess those won't really work out, which is too bad, because I liked the grippy part. So far, for me, the Dunlop Tortex .5mm picks have had the best combination of flexibility and survival, tho' the Fender Thins aren't bad either - they're also durable, but I don't like the feel as much.
