Muah! New DeLoreans!

Also, Mueeeeeeh?! Where'd he get those shoes?! CLICKIE!

I planted the carrots and broccoli seeds today. Yay! I've also figured out the next few things I want to do with the garden, some of which still include concrete, tho' not very much - just for footers for a few substantially-decorative low-height retaining walls. I should talk about those at some point but right now I have to go to the post office.

Again, I'm calling for WHO WANTS WOOD? I've got a lot of firewood-grade wood sitting around. Let me know if you want any - I'm looking in your direction, {a: a=?pawtows}! Otherwise I'll put mail up on North King County Freecycle.

(Oh, and if you're Freecycle-aware, the North King County Freecycle list is no longer pointless. They're up to 1600-something members now, instead of, um, 80 or so, which is where they were sometime when I checked last year. I think.)

(ETA: Yeah, I added the subtitle to the title. I thought I'd decide how it looked that way.)

With the indoor public spaces smoking ban in place, Seattle gots Smokeeasies.

Bill O'Reilly says Americans under 25 have no idea what's going on because of Jon Stewart; reportedly, however, the average Daily Show viewer is actually better informed and educated than the average viewer of The O'Reilly Factor. This may be related to all the time they aren't spending driving the Buick out to Sam's Club for another paletteload of DependsTM.

I forgot to mention the mountain beaver who kept me company while I was poking around in the garden. It was rustling around in the more heavily overgrown areas of the back yard, near the parts I want to keep forested, and want to repopulate with more native trees when I can. I spotted it a few times, and then it walked along the top of the retaining wall for a few seconds, which is how I got a good look. The two things that make mountain beavers funny are: 1. they are not found in mountains, and 2. they are not beavers. However, they are unique to Cascadia, so perhaps at some point we will have an Official Washington State Rodent, and they will be it.
