CDs

CDs are cheaper in Europe, even with the Euro climbing so much lately.

The (new, popular music) CD I just ordered from Denmark is only e13.44. Shipping and handling add another e6.05 to it for a total of e19.49.

Meanwhile, a typical new-release US CD is: $15.99 * 1.086 (local sales tax) = $17.37 * .923e/$ = e16.03.

So if I could find someplace with really cheap shipping, I think I'd come out ahead. Even with a high Euro. A Euro from several months ago would be more like: $17.37 * 1.10 = e19.10, which is almost the same, and assumes that I pick up the CD from the store.

That's kind of fucked up right there.
