Skippy's always been trying to bring in American-style fsacist-adjacent politics. He supported the clownvoy last year and was deeply, deeply involved with the dirty tricks the Tories used during the Harper years.
Like all Tory leaders since Harper, he's had to play a very calculated balancing act to not get caught by the Media while at the same time playing up to the Con base who eat up 'social conservatism' in all its flavours so that he doesn't piss them off and end up in the scrap heap with Scheer,and O'toole.
