The human equivalent of sharp knives is a concept I can fathom and get behind. It treats a genuine threat as exactly what it is, without reducing sentient beings to the status of thing. It’s trying to be literal about it, the rejection of personhood, where my conscience rebels. Straight up telling someone ‘You are a thing’ ... Not happening, and that’s as much conscious choice as it is engrained reaction.
