Hello from an airplane over Lake Superior! The great lakes are really weird and kind of disturbing because to me they feel like the ocean, because you can't see across them to land, but they're freshwater and lack waves and tides, so the ocean - but broken.

(Seriously the first time I saw one - when I came east a few years ago, combination tour and vacation - that was my reaction. So disturbing. You have no idea.)
